Human rights reporting: We are collecting information on forced psychiatric detention and treatment in the U.S., including instances of forced medication and forced electroshock. We will use the information to support our efforts to have laws allowing such treatment repealed.
Legal action: We are exploring a number of ways to challenge these laws by looking at past and current cases involving the issues of privacy, informed consent, civil rights, LGBTQ rights and more. We welcome your help.
Alternatives: We are exploring alternative approaches to treatment that give people more support, especially from peers, and more say about their own mental health.
Advocacy and outreach: We are speaking out about the need to have these laws repealed and reaching out to interested organizations and individuals for cooperation and support.
