The folks responsible for this website are a small collective of activists from the U.S. and Canada. We came together following an invitation from Tina Minkowitz of the Center for the Human Rights of Users and Survivors of Psychiatry. Some of us became involved as a result of a workshop on Repealing Mental Health Laws that Tina conducted at the PsychOUT conference in NYC June 20-21, 2011.
We are working on a structure for the campaign that will allow us to open it up to more people to become involved, particularly by creating workgroups.
We have started a Facebook group “Repealing Mental Health Laws,” where we are networking with like-minded people, who may end up working directly with this campaign or starting their own related campaigns. We welcome for this to become a movement and not just one centralized campaign. We are open to collaboration and solidarity with everyone working in line with our mission.
We invite everyone who supports this work to sign on as a supporter of the campaign, via our contact page.

Hi Tina!
I wish you all the best. Love you dear.
I’m very glad with this initiative.
I would be interested to know what proposals you have to avoid coercion.
Spelling out what would be the proposed alternative situation.
